Most people at the CS department should have at least two different user accounts:
- department login (ITS or UServ account):
- university central login (ITDuA account):
fbiXYZW(for students and faculty/staff, respectively) with associated email addresses firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com
Additional accounts may exist for the Online Booking System or the library.
Generally, authentication against department systems is done using the ITS account. In some cases (like GitLab), the ITDuA account can be used in addition. In these cases, you should prefer the department credentials as department members may be assigned additional permissions or higher quotas.
See the service-specific notes for details on authentication.
Changing your login password
You can change the password of your department account as follows:
- students: use the Online Booking System to reset your account password
- faculty/staff: log in to GOsa from within the department network and choose Passwort ändern on the top right
The password for the university central login can be changed at:
In case you have forgotten your department login's password, please open a ticket by sending mail (preferably with a digital signature attached) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Students may also reset their password through the Online Booking System.
Similarly, for university central accounts, students can reset their passwords using the self-service functions. This requires a backup code handed to you when initially joining the university. Faculty and staff members as well as students no longer in possession of their backup code have to contact the Service Desk (email@example.com, +49.6151.16-38888).
